Adobe Firefly Is Now Publicly Available.

Adobe
Adobe’s AI design suite Firefly is now available in Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, Adobe Experience Cloud, and as a standalone app.
Firefly is the most comprehensive AI tool we’d recommend to design teams. Here are some ways you can use it beyond text-to-image:
Generative Fill: add, remove, or expand pieces of an image.
Generative Recolor: change a color palette / theme with a text prompt.
Generative Expand: expand & resize images while keeping the vibe constant.
You can either get your hands on these in various Creative Cloud apps, or you can purchase 100 Firefly credits (= prompts) for $4.99/month.
Adobe Firefly is safe for businesses. Firefly was only trained on content that’s publicly available or within its Adobe Stock service.
Even more, Adobe has a clause that straight up shields users from third-party IP claims. Even even more, Adobe announced yesterday that it’s dishing out bonuses to the champs who contributed images for its AI training.
What impact do you think Adobe Firefly will have on the design industry?
Apple maintains its discreet stance on AI

Apple
The Overview: Unlike other tech giants making bold AI claims, Apple has been quietly using the tech to enhance basics in its new devices — with several low-key features announced at the Wonderlust event.
Key points:
Apple didn't mention "AI" in its announcements, contrasting with rivals like Microsoft and Google setting ambitious AI visions.
The iPhone 15 highlighted AI-related improvements for noise cancellation, blurring portraits, and predictive text.
In the latest Series 9 Watch, a four-core "Neural Engine" will power machine learning tasks, reportedly boosting Siri's accuracy by 25%.
Why it matters: Apple is keeping hushed on AI (for now) by labeling its AI-related updates as anything other than AI. But don’t count Apple out of the AI race just yet — they also have a ChatGPT competitor on the way and billions of consumers.
Why is Apple so secretive about its AI initiatives, and what could this mean for future products?
Stable Audio Unveils Text-to-Music AI Accessible to Everyone

Stable audio
This year, we’ve seen several text-to-music AIs, like OpenAI’s Jukebox, Meta’s MusicGen, and Google’s MusicLM.
Stability AI, the creator of Stable Diffusion, launched the first one for public use called Stable Audio. It used a method called “latent diffusion” plus 800,000+ consented songs to give users more control over their audio content and duration.
So is it good?
IDK — we can’t use it since their site is overwhelmed with traffic. Early reports say that it’s top-tier for audio quality but lacks creativity.
Here are some of the prompts Stability gave as examples:
“death metal power chord guitar riffs fast metal drums.”
“piano solo chord progression major key uplifting 90 BPM.”
“people talking in a busy restaurant.”
Why it matters: The last example signals a future where producers / directors can create sound effects in seconds without a dedicated composer. Potential business applications include:
Film Production: background sounds tailored to specific scenes / moods.
Advertising: catchy jingles / tunes that resonate with a brand or message.
Gaming: soundtracks for in-game scenarios.
How might Stable Audio's Text-to-Music AI change the music creation landscape?

Competition Launch: Stanford Ribonanza RNA Folding

Lab
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is essential for most biological functions—and it could also be the key to ushering in an age of programmable medicine. But first, researchers must better understand each RNA molecule's structure. In this competition, you’ll create a model that predicts the structure of any RNA molecule from its sequence.
The train and test data sets involve an experimental technique called chemical mapping which is highly sensitive to RNA structure. This competition involves the largest such data sets ever collected for machine learning, by more than two orders of magnitude.

How to craft perfect charts with ChatGPT
ChatGPT can create visually stunning charts for you— without touching Excel or writing a line of code.
Step 1: Open ChatGPT and select ‘Advanced Data Analysis’ (previously Code Interpreter)
Step 2: Upload your data by attaching a file or pasting it into a prompt such as "Please create a visually stunning chart that best displays the following data.” For this example, we used a dataset of how long it took various services to reach 1M users.
Step 3: If you have specific customization requests, add them to your prompt or ask ChatGPT to refine. Preferences can include chart type, color scheme, layout, etc.
That's it! All it takes are a few simple steps to get a customized, data-driven chart just by speaking in natural language with ChatGPT.
